gift it lets you build a wishlist from any retailer — paste a URL from any website or scan a barcode in any physical shop — then share one link. Anyone with the link can view the list and click through to buy without creating an account. Logged-in gifters can claim items to prevent duplicates. The person whose list it is doesn't see who claimed what until after the occasion date.
Step by step
How to build your list
01
Create a free account
Sign up with email or Google. Magic link — no password required. Must be 18 or over.
02
Add items from any shop
Paste a URL from any retailer — title, image, and price-when-added fill in automatically. Or scan a barcode in any physical shop. Important: barcode scanning requires opening gift it in Safari or Chrome directly — it does not work inside WhatsApp or iMessage's in-app browser.
03
Add notes and sizes
Add a note to each item. Notes are visible to approved followers only — not anonymous visitors.
04
Set an occasion date
Optional. Before the date: buyer identities are hidden from you. After it: gift it reveals who bought what.
05
Share your list
Tap Share for a link. Send via WhatsApp, iMessage, or email.

Building and managing your list
→Multiple lists — Birthday, Home, Baby, Christmas — each with its own link and occasion date.
→Do-not-buy list: categories shown to approved followers only, not anonymous visitors.
→Occasion reveal: after the date, see who gave what.
Browsing and buying from a list
→Open the link — no account, no app, no loading prompt.
→Browse: product names, images, prices, and buy links visible to all. Claimed status and notes/sizes visible to logged-in approved followers only.
→Claim: create a free account, tap "I'll get this" — other logged-in gifters see it as taken — lister doesn't know who until after occasion date.
→Buy: goes to retailer product page. Each buy link shows "Affiliate link — gift it may earn a commission" below the button.
Links to retailers may earn gift it a small commission. This never affects the items on anyone’s list.
What makes it different
Six things no other wishlist tool does
Any shop
No retailer restrictions
Amazon, ASOS, Etsy, independent shops, any website with a product page — or scan a barcode in any physical store.
Barcode scanning
Decoded in your browser, nothing uploaded
ZXing-js decodes the barcode on your device. Only the barcode number is sent for the product lookup — no image is ever stored or transmitted. Note: works in Safari and Chrome but not inside WhatsApp or iMessage.
Duplicate prevention
The quiet claim system
Logged-in gifters claim items. Other logged-in gifters see the item as taken. The lister only sees items are claimed — not by whom — until after the occasion date.
The occasion reveal
Who got what — after the day
Set a date on your list. After it passes, gift it reveals who bought which items. Before it, buyer identities are hidden.
For gifters
No account to browse and buy
Anyone with the link views the list and clicks through to buy without signing up. An account is only needed to claim an item or to see notes and sizes (approved followers only).
The do-not-buy list
The kindest thing nobody includes
Add categories you definitely don't want. Shown to approved followers viewing your profile. Steers people away from the categories that arrive every year.

How it works
Build a wishlist from any retailer by pasting a URL or scanning a barcode, then share one link. Anyone with the link can view the list and buy without an account. Logged-in gifters can claim items to prevent duplicates. The lister doesn't see who claimed what until after the occasion date.
Open gift it in your mobile browser — Safari or Chrome, not inside WhatsApp or iMessage — tap Add Item, then tap Scan Barcode. Point your camera at the product barcode. The barcode is decoded in the browser — no image is sent anywhere.
No account is needed to view product names, images, prices, and buy links. An account is needed to see notes and sizes (approved followers only), see claimed status, or claim an item.
Logged-in gifters tap 'I'll get this' on any item. Other logged-in gifters see that item as claimed. The lister only sees that items are claimed — not by whom — until after the occasion date.
An optional date on a list — your birthday, Christmas, a wedding. Before it: buyer identities are hidden from you. After it: gift it reveals who bought which items.
